Postdoctoral Fellowship for Foreign Researchers and Graduate Study at Ehime University

Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) offers JSPS postdoctoral fellowship for foreign researchers.  A candidate should have a doctorate degree within 6 years from the application date.  If he/she has had JSPS postdoctoral fellowship in the fast, he/she cannot apply to the fellowship again.  The fellowship period should be longer than 12 months and less than 24 months.  JSPS will supply air tickets and about US$3100 per month (i.e., when US$1.00 = 120yen).

The Japanese Embassy in your country offers scholarships of Monbukagaku-sho bound for graduate study in Japanese universities.  One is 5-year program (i.e., Master and Doctrate Study) and the other is 3-year program.  If you have not had enough background for either plant water-relations or mass spectrometry, I will recommend you to start from Master course bound for Ph.D., thus, you will have enough time to learn fundamentals prior to Ph.D. degree program.  The scholarship period cannot be extended once the Japanese Embassy decides the term.

When you write to me about your interests, I will help you to write application forms for either JSPS postdoctoral fellowship or Japanese Embassy scholarship to enter Ehime University.

Mass spectrometry projects will be conducted together with Profs. R. Erra-Balsells and H. Nonami, and plant water relation projects will be conducted with Prof. H. Nonami.
